Chinese zodiacs consists of 12 different animals; a Chinese zodiac cycle is a 12 year cycle which always start on the year of the rat & finish on the year of the pig.

Legend has it that Lord Buddha summoned all of the animals of the Earth to participate in a race. Top 12 animals who arrive first at the specified destination are rewarded as a zodiac & the order of the zodiacs are in the order they arrived. These animals in the oder they arrived are Rat (1st zodiac), Ox (2nd zodiac), Tiger (3rd zodiac), Rabbit (4th zodiac), Dragon (5th zodiac), Snake (6th zodiac), Horse (7th zodiac), Sheep (8th zodiac), Monkey (9th zodiac), Rooster (10th zodiac), Dog (11th zodiac) & Pig (12th zodiac).
